Twenty years ago a small group of community and business leaders had a vision to create a program, which would recognize and nurture leadership potential through a year-long program. What began as Leadership San Mateo has expanded to include the Burlingame, Foster City, and Hillsborough communities with more than 30 eager class members each year representing business, government and non-profit organizations.
Leadership is a ten month program of monthly day-long seminars where participants engage in face-to-face discussions with experts and key decision makers from San Mateo, Foster City, Burlingame, and Hillsborough as well as the County. This comprehensive program consists of presentations, tours, and interactive activities focusing on areas of vital interest to the community including Business and Economic Development; Government; Education; Law Enforcement and the Judicial System; Health Care, Human Services; Arts, Culture, and Media Relations; the Environment; Fire and Emergency Services; Transportation, Housing, and Planning.
In this second program of the series, join us to discuss the impact that new building codes will have on community associations and how local governments can help support associations through this transition through education, outreach, policy and programs. We’ll learn some of the challenges and opportunities our multifamily communities are facing, what other cities are doing to help and to explore the possibility and resources available to better plan for addressing the aging infrastructure of our communities.
In this inaugural program, join our distinguished panel with representatives from Pacific Gas & Electric, San Mateo County Energy Watch, the Bay Area Regional Energy Network, and Recology for a roundtable discussion and program primer on energy efficiency and sustainability program offerings, including the new Energy Upgrade California – Bay Area Multifamily Building Enhancements Program.
Learn from our panel of experts on how to navigate through the selection of rebates, incentives and financing and get the technical assistance you need to make smart energy-efficient improvements to meet our cities’ clean energy goals.
