Foster City Chamber of Commerce Kicks Off Its First living!LOCAL HOLIDAY MARKETPLACE With Partner WHIM LOCAL

FOSTER CITY, CA (November 18, 2021) – The Foster City Chamber of Commerce, one of the county’s strongest chamber community advocates, prepares to launch its first ever living!LOCAL Holiday Marketplace with partner Whim Local this holiday season. This new partnership provides opportunities for local businesses to collaborate, discover, and empower each other through a truly unique shop local fully digital experience. The Marketplace will go live December 1, 2021 and run for the entire month closing out the calendar year with the unique opportunities from your favorite organizations during the holiday season.

“Community is our business,” says Joanne Bohigian, Chair of the Foster City Chamber Board, “and we could not be happier to partner with such a vibrant and enthusiastic organization like Whim Local. The digital scope and profound and inclusive possibilities and opportunities available to our community will be unlike anything this community has seen. Our goal is to continue our cornerstone statement that the Foster City Area is a great place to live, work, and play.”

Whim Local joins forces with the Foster City Chamber to build this digital holiday Marketplace pilot expanding the opportunity of support uplifting local business by providing unique products and experiences for the community that reside right in their own backyard. Imagine, Pinterest meets Etsy for the local market. WhimLocal.com Founder/ CEO, Aviral Gupta is a proud local Foster City resident who became inspired by the community work, engagement, and ChamberCARES program from the Foster City Chamber, and became one of its members. Whim Local has won Techstars Startup weekend & Stanford start-up pitch, part of YC Startup school, Tech Futures Group, and ASU Venture Devils. It’s mission is to fuel local commerce, drive discovery and increase sales & traffic for small businesses.

With the rollout of a new website, new focus, and engagement, the Foster City Chamber of Commerce has taken the lessons learned since March of 2020, listened to the needs, convened together inclusively, and empowered and acted for the greater good of the economic health and vitality of the Foster City Area. With these pivotal lessons, the Chamber dutifully rolls up its sleeves engaging and empowering new types of membership models for all. Be it a business just starting off with its Growth Entrepreneur

Model, or a long-time community cornerstone business looking for support and engagement from its constituents to those organizations that continue to be leaders and foundational placemakers in the local community through their engagement in the Chamber.

The Foster City Chamber continues to build & strengthen its collaborations and partnerships with all organizations in our community.
